Welcome to the interactive Child Health Systems Map

This interactive resource is designed to help people who work to improve public health. It shows the complex ways in which inequalities in child health are influenced and shaped by multiple factors at a local level.

You can use the resources to look at the relationships between different factors that influence inequalities.

The main Systems Map in map form provides a visual depiction of the range of factors identified as having an influence on child health inequalities at the local level. Connecting lines show where there is a relationship between factors.

Factors are organised into six colour-coded domains. Individual Domain Maps show the interconnections between the factors within each domain. Factors that make up the domain are listed below the individual domain maps.

Scroll up and down the main Systems Map to view the factors and follow the paths on the map to see how factors are connected.

The factors from the map can also be found in List Form in alphabetical order within each domain.

Connected Factors

Click on any factor – in map or list form – to view a list of that factor’s primary connections (factors that are directly connected) and secondary connections (factors connected via one other factor).

Use the arrows on the primary and secondary factors to reveal how those factors are in turn connected to others.
